Mobile Ad Spend Catches Up With Mobile Use

So far, it really hasn’t, for one reason and another.  But as mobile devices get more sophisticated, and their use gets more widespread, it was only a matter of time before advertisers caught on that this is how they can get to people who have a medium with them at all times.  The jump in spending this year has been modest, in accord with the times; according to eMarketer, mobile ad spending is estimated at $416 million.  By 2013, that number should jump to over $1.5 billion. The author of an eMarketer report on the subject predicts that mobile ad spending will grow “considerably more quickly than online ad spending as a whole, more in line with emerging online formats such as digital video.”
