Yes Virginia, We Do Read Newspapers

You may think, after hearing all of the glum news about the newspaper industry, that nobody reads them anymore. Or that you’re the only person in the known universe who still does it.  Not so, says, Scarborough Research. 74% of American adults still read them at least on a weekly basis. Not necessarily in print, but they’re still being read. The printed versions too, according to a Scarborough exec, are holding their own.  “Printed newspapers have continued the tradition (as trusted sources of news and information) by successfully extending their brands into the digital space,” the exec said… “(the recent study) is noteworthy in the wake of… reported significant declines in weekday and Sunday printed newspaper circulation… (as) circulation and audience do not always march in lockstep as they are two different measurements.”
